Two hospitalised after shooting in in St Augustine

Two men are nursing gunshot injuries following a shooting in St Augustine on Sunday night.

The victims have been identified as 31-year-old Kedon Pernette and 26-year-old Curtis Ramah.

According to police reports, at about 8:00 pm, Pernette was standing along Dookiesingh Street, St Augustine, when he was approached by an armed assailant.

Without warning the gunman shot at Pernette before fleeing into a waiting gun.

In the aftermath, the 31-year-old was shot to his right arm and chest.

Ramah, who was in his yard at the time of the shooting, was shot once to his hip.

The police and emergency health services were notified and both men were rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope for treatment.

Both are said to be in a serious condition, however, their injuries are not said to be life-threatening.
