Two killed in Arima
Two men are dead following a shooting in Arima on Saturday night.
The deceased have been identified as Anderson Richie, 18, of Hall Street, Sherwood Park, Arima, and Nicholas Edwards, of Paul Perreira Street, Arima.
According to initial reports, around 10.10 pm residents of Sherwood Park, near Jean Lane, heard several explosions.
Upon investigating, they found a vehicle parked along the roadway.
The body of a man was found lying in a pool of blood.
A vehicle, whose engine was still running, was observed nearby.
Upon searching, the body of a man was found in the backseat of the van.
The arms of the deceased, police said, had been tied and bound.
The police were notified and officers from the Arima police station, the Northern Division, and the Homicide Bureau, under the supervisions of Snr Sup David, responded.
Loop News was told that up to 6 am today, the inquiry was 'at a sensitive stage' as during the course of their investigations overnight, police were given intelligence that the shooting may have been the end result of a kidnapping gone wrong.
