Two men charged after robbing supermarket

Two men have been arrested and charged for the shop breaking and larceny.

Officers conducted a search in the Valencia district on Monday between the hours of 2 pm and 4 pm, under the supervision of Sgt. Narine, and included officers of the Valencia Criminal Investigations Department and Task Force.

The officers were following up on leads into a report that on May 3, two men entered the L Family Food Supermarket, located at Eastern Main Road, Valencia, where they stole TT$2,200 and an assortment of cigarettes.

Officers went to a house located on Kangalee Street, Valencia, where they found two men who fit the description of the suspects.

The men were taken to the Valencia Police Post and their fingerprints matched those found at the crime scene.

Both men aged 29, were jointly charged for the offence of shop breaking and larceny.
