Two men killed metres away from wake for Tunapuna murder victim

Two men were gunned down in Tunapuna on Tuesday night, mere metres from where the wake for Charisse Bramble, who was shot dead that morning, was taking place.

The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Akash Dookie and 19-year-old Darius Joseph.

Both men were said to be from the Tunapuna area.

According to police reports, at about 11 pm on Tuesday, both men were liming with a group of persons at Marcano Drive, off El Dorado Road, Tunapuna, when several explosions were heard.

In the aftermath, both Dookie and Joseph were found lying on the ground bleeding from multiple gunshot injuries.

The police and emergency health services were notified, and the two men were rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

They were pronounced dead on arrival.

The incident took place a short distance from where Bramble had been killed less than 24 hours earlier.

The 32-year-old woman was shot dead at her home in El Dorado Road, around 2:30 am on Tuesday when two men forced their way into the home and opened fire.

Another man, identified as Kent Davis of Monte Grand, was injured in that incident, and up to Wednesday morning was still warded in a critical condition at the hospital.

The two incidents are not known to be related.
