Two men shot in Chaguanas, gunman escapes on foot

Police are investigating reports of two men shot in Chaguanas on Tuesday night.
The victims are two men, aged 20 and 24, both from the area.
According to police, around 8.00 pm on Tuesday night both men were standing along Robinson Street, Montrose, Chaguanas, when they were approached by a lone gunman.
The assailant, on seeing the two men, pulled out a gun and shot them several times about the body.
The gunman then fled the scene on foot.
Police said the 20-year-old man was shot to his lower left abdomen, left upper buttocks, and his left thumb. The 24-year-old was shot to his upper left thigh and left wrist.
The police and paramedics were notified and the injured men were rushed for treatment.
A team of officers led by Cpl Lezama and PC Baptiste visited the scene.
The 20-year-old was taken for emergency surgery at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex as his injuries were more serious while the 24-year-old is said to be in a stable condition.

Investigations are continuing.
