Two men sought by police after teen sexually assaulted near mosque

St James police are searching for two men who allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl near a mosque.

The incident was said to have taken place at about 7:00 pm on Saturday in St James, near a track which was close to the Jamaat al Muslimeen Mosque.

The teenaged girl told police that she got into a car with two occupants heading into Diego Martin and asked to be taken to Movie Towne.

However, while driving along the Mucurapo Road, the driver pulled aside into a track near the mosque and the teenager was sexually assaulted.

The men then abandoned the teenager.

A report was made to the St James Police Station, and the matter was then picked up by officers from the Child Protection Unit.

More on this as it becomes available.
