Two more people succumb to COVID-19; fatalities jump to 92

Trinidad and Tobago has recorded two additional COVID-19-related deaths taking national fatalities to 92.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) made the revelation in its 4 pm update that was released just after 5 pm. No further information on these latest victims was provided. 

Furthermore, 15 people have contracted the novel coronavirus from samples taken over the last three days. 

Active cases have now risen to 1,715.

To date, 5,116 people have been infected with COVID-19 locally. Of that total, 3,303 have recovered.

Meanwhile, 105 individuals remain hospitalised, 39 in step-down facilities, 44 in state quarantine and 1,571 in self-isolation. 

Since registering the first case on March 12, 30,652 people have been tested for the viral respiratory illness in T&T. In addition, 15,538 private sector COVID-19 tests have also been completed.
