Two nursing injuries after shooting in Morvant

Twenty-seven spent shells were recovered from the scene of a shooting in Morvant on Friday.

According to police reports, around 9 pm, residents of Morvant Old Road heard several loud explosions and saw a white Nissan Almera speeding away.

In the aftermath, a 33-year-old woman and 40-year-old man were found bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds.

The police and paramedics were notified and the two injured persons were rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital.

Their injuries are not said to be life-threatening. 

A team of officers led by ASP Mohammed and Sgt Parris visited the scene.

Investigations are continuing.
