Two killed following exchange of gunfire in Belmont

Two men are said to be dead following a shooting incident on Thursday morning in Belmont.

Police are said to still be on location, and the deceased have been identified as Kareem Stanisclaus, 30 and Coby Brown, 24.

Initial reports indicated that around 11 am today, residents of Walcott Lane, off Belle Eau Road, Belmont, heard several loud explosions.

Upon investigating, they reportedly observed two men running along the roadway, being pursued by another group.

One of the men was wearing a mask over his face and a bulletproof vest.

Several more explosions were heard, and men were seen fleeing the scene.

The police were notified and officers of the Belmont Police Station found the bullet-riddled bodies of two men a short distance away from one another.

Police have since ascertained that Stanisclaus and a group of his friends attacked Brown and his friends and following a shootout between the two groups, both men were killed.

More on this as it becomes available.
