Two treated and discharged following gas leak at Atlantic LNG

Two service provider employees have been treated and discharged following a gas leak at Atlantic LNG's facility in Point Fortin.

A release from the company said the employees, who were in the vicinity of the release, were taken to the Point Fortin Area Hospital, where they were treated and discharged.

In an update on the situation which the company earlier said was a "hydrocarbon release", Atlantic LNG said a train remains offline pending repair of a valve after a gas leak earlier today.

The company said all other trains have resumed normal operations.

"During the incident, Atlantic’s safety systems functioned according to design and all necessary communication protocols with the Ministry of Energy, the Point Fortin Borough Corporation, the community and other stakeholders were observed," the company said.
