Two warded after Marabella shooting

Two persons – including a 39-year-old Venezuelan national – are nursing gunshot injuries following a shooting incident in Marabella on Sunday morning.

The victims have been identified as 39-year-old Angus Mc Burnie, of Princes Town, and Christobalina Nunezmora, a Venezuelan national who currently resides at Elizabeth Street, Marabella.

According to police reports, at about 4:00 am on Sunday, several loud explosions were heard in the vicinity of the Classic Seamen Club located at Elizabeth Street, Marabella.

Upon checking, Mc Burnie was found on the roadway nursing gunshot injuries to both legs and his lower abdomen.

Nunezmora was found nursing a gunshot injury to her left leg.

The police and emergency health services were notified and the two wounded parties were rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.

Crime scene investigators visited the scene and four spent 9mm shells were recovered.

Sgt Santana is continuing inquiries.
