Two women remain warded after accident that claimed friend's life
Two women remain warded at the San Fernando General Hospital, following a motor vehicle accident which claimed the life of their 21-year-old friend.
The deceased has been identified as Annise Sakawath.
Her two friends, identified as 21-year-old Vinnita Sookraj, and 20-year-old Preya Samuel, remain hospitalised up to this morning.
Both are said to be in a serious condition, but Sookraj, LoopTT was told, is being closely observed as she suffered more extensive injuries including multiple broken ribs and a punctured lung.
According to police reports, around 11:30 am on Wednesday, the three friends were in a Toyota Ceres motor vehicle, heading towards Samuel’s home at Crawford Trace, Penal.
While driving along the roadway, the vehicle reportedly skidded on a patch of dirt, and Samuel lost control of the car.
The car hit a utility pole and flipped.
During the accident, Sakawath was thrown from the back window.
She suffered extensive injuries to her head.
The police and emergency health services were notified, and the other two women were rushed to the General Hospital where they both remain warded up to this morning.
