Watch: Unbeaten Amazon Warriors meet Barbados Tridents in CPL final

The unbeaten Guyana Amazon Warriors will face a fast-finishing Barbados Tridents team in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) final on Saturday 12 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago.

The Tridents got past the Trinbago Knight Riders by a slim margin of 12 runs in the Qualifier Two (Semi-Final) on Thursday 10, in what was an exciting affair.

Speaking today at the pre-final press conference, captains of the two teams expressed their joy of reaching the final. Shoaib Malik, captain of the Amazon Warriors, assured fans that the team has put behind them their ill fortunes of the previous final appearances, and is well prepared and confident of their chances this time around. Jason Holder, on the other hand, attributes the Tridents trek to the final to Phil Simmons their coach along with other managerial staff, who has helped him keep the players focused.

Both men spoke of the rising young talent in the Caribbean and that it augers well for the Caribbean game. Malik said: “I’ve been watching from the last seven years… it’s exceptional I’ve never seen such talent anywhere in the world but it’s just how you groom that talent.”

An exciting contest is expected in the final, will the Amazon Warriors go unbeaten in this year's CPL or will the Barbados Tridents relegate them to bridesmaids yet again. Make sure you are at the Brain Lara Cricket Academy to witness the outcome.
