UNC candidates focus on communities in election campaign

The United National Congress (UNC) is gearing up for the 2020 General Election.

Candidates are on the ground in communities campaigning ahead of polls, which are constitutionally due by December 23, 2020.

They have heard concerns of poor road conditions, drainage issues and unreliable water supplies in speaking with the burgesses they are seeking to represent.

Speaking briefly on the party’s campaign strategy, UNC PRO Anita Haynes told Loop News that the campaign is an extension of its work ahead of the 2019 Local Government Election.  

“The UNC from the Local Government Election has run community-based campaigns ensuring that representatives were accessible in the communities in which they were seeking to represent.

We’ve had to work within the new normal with consideration for COVID-19, but we are making sure that there is representational politics … a continuation of those efforts in the Local Government Election campaign.”
