UNC, EBC meet over election anomalies

The United National Congress (UNC) has met with the Elections and Boundaries Commission regarding concerns ahead of the December 2 local government election.

Discussions during Thursday’s meeting included 1684 inconsistencies and anomalies within the St. Joseph, Tunapuna, Moruga/Tableland and La Horquetta/Talparo constituencies.   

While the issues remained unresolved, the party described the meeting as productive.

The EBC undertook to provide training for the party’s polling day staff and establish a protocol for communication on election day between the Commission and the party, for any issues which may arise. 

The EBC also gave the assurance that the implementation of the new postal codes by the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation (TTPost) would not affect the mailing of poll cards to voters.
