Unidentified couple found dead in Cunupia, covered in sheets

The two bodies which were discovered in Cunupia on Monday afternoon have yet to be identified.

The bodies, police said, were that of a man of African descent and a woman of East Indian descent.

They were discovered at about 5:15 pm Monday in some bushes off Mt Plaisir Road, Cunupia.

Investigators believed that they had been killed sometime earlier that day and their bodies had been dumped along the side of the roadway.

Both bodies had been wrapped in colourful sheets.

A district medical officer viewed the bodies and observed what appeared to be gunshot injuries to both victims.

However, an autopsy is needed, pending identification, to confirm that this indeed was the cause of death.

The male victim, police said, had tattoos about his body, including one which spelled out 'Kenny'.

The female victim had a tattoo of a star on her left shoulder.
