UTT: Graduation ceremonies postponed due to COVID-19

The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) is advising its students that their graduation ceremonies set for November 11 and 12 have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision comes as the University, in collaboration with the Student Guild, conducted a survey seeking to obtain feedback from the graduands on the preferred format of the ceremonies.

“The results of this survey indicated that graduands preferred a face-to-face ceremony. As such, it was decided that the Presentation of Graduates Ceremonies 2020 be deferred until a physical ceremony can safely take place,” the statement said.

UTT added that certificates will be prepared and distributed accordingly to avoid any delay for persons who may require it.

“UTT continues to support its students in these challenging times, both academically and socially to ensure that their tertiary level education is not compromised in any way,” the release ended.
