Valencia man charged with murder
A Valencia man was scheduled to appear before a Sangre Grande Magistrate on Monday charged with the murder of Kelvin Lake who was shot and killed while attending a christening on Sunday July 2, 2017.
According to a report from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), 24-year-old Shondell Jack of Gill Street, Valencia, was charged with murder after advice was received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, SC, on Friday, July 28, 2017.
Jack was charged by PC Andre Lewis, of Homicide Region 2, on Saturday, July 29, 2017.
Lake, 26, of Bertram Street, Valencia, was found dead along the roadway, at KP Lands, Valencia, with a gunshot wound to the head, on Sunday, July 2, 2017.
According to media reports, Lake was attending a christening of his friend's child when armed men approached him and opened fire.
Lake was rushed to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery but, sadly, succumbed to his injuries.
