Valsayn family terrorised by bandits

St Joseph police are investigating a report of a home invasion in which a family of four was robbed at gunpoint.

The family included a 67-year-old man, his 65-year-old wife, and two 28-year-old men.

According to police reports, the victims were asleep at their home along Bamboo Settlement, Valsayn, when at about 3:00 am on Sunday, they were awoken by loud noises.

Four men were seen entering the premises, one of which was armed with a firearm.

The men announced a hold-up and threatened to kill everyone if an alarm was raised.

They then proceeded to rob the relatives of a quantity of cash, jewellery, business cards and cheques, and other items of value.

The assailants then made good their escape on foot.

When the gunmen left, the relatives notified police.
