Venezuelan woman allegedly sexually assaulted

Police are investigating a report in which a 24-year-old Venezuelan woman was allegedly sexually assaulted over the weekend.

This incident allegedly took place in a forested area of Morne Diablo, south Trinidad.

According to police reports, the woman was walking with a man known to her at Morne Diablo Bay, at about 6:00 am on November 24, 2018, when a vehicle pulled up next to the duo.

The woman claimed that the man she knew ordered her into the vehicle – which had three other individuals at the time – otherwise she may be harmed.

The vehicle then drove a short distance away into a forested area where it was alleged that the woman was sexually assaulted.

The woman was then abandoned in the forest.

The victim walked to the nearby roadway, where she was able to flag down a vehicle and was taken to the Penal Police Station.

A report was made and the 24-year-old was taken for medical examination and assistance.

Police have been given a description of the four suspects and a search is currently ongoing for these men.

Arrests are said to be imminent.

More on this as it becomes available.
