Venezuelan women held at Chaguanas warehouse

Hours after the two-week registration process for Venezuelan migrants came to an end in this country, 11 women were held at a warehouse along Rodney Road, Chaguanas.

The Venezuelan nationals were held during a police exercise in the district.

They were found around 1 pm yesterday, hiding in the upper floors of the warehouse.

They were not registered and as such they were all detained and taken to police stations in the Central Division.

On Friday, Police Commissioner Gary Griffith told the media that Venezuelan nationals, who have not registered will be detained, charged and deported.
