Victim Support Unit offers counselling to family in Palo Seco tragedy
The Victim and Witness Support Unit (VWSU), of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has offered support to the family of murder victim, Tahilla St. Clair, of Palo Seco.
The 27-year-old woman, was at her Beach Road, Palo Seco home around 11:50 pm, on Monday, with her five-year-old son, when she was attacked by a man she knew.
She was chopped on the head and later died at the Siparia Health Facility.
A suspect is currently in police custody in connection with the incident.
Counselling and other support services were provided to the relatives of the deceased within hours of the tragedy by Victim and Witness Support Officer, Ayanna Phillip.
According to police records, the victim did not have a restraining order against the suspect nor was there any report made against the attacker.
The VWSU is again urging all victims of domestic violence to come forward and report their situation to the police.
