Video of Pasea crash goes viral, Arrive Alive calls for investigation
Local advocacy group Arrive Alive is calling for a thorough investigation after video footage of an accident involving a Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) truck and another vehicle went viral online.
The accident resulted in the death of 82-year-old Genora Margaret Sandy, after the truck crushed the left passenger side of the vehicle. Emergency responders used the 'jaws of life' to remove her from the vehicle.
The video shows the car in which Sandy was travelling pausing at an intersection in Pasea , Tunapuna. The car slowly pulls off when the truck is seen approaching from the West, colliding with the vehicle.
The group said the incident was horrific and 'reckless' and called for proper training and awareness for all drivers.

May 82 yr old Genora Margaret Sandy Rest In Peace! May Iván Pierre survive the trauma of this horrific collision physically and mentally."
"Emergency personnel should only break red and amber lights when there is an emergency and with due care and attention! This is another case of needless loss of life! Training, Education is essential for all drivers. In the case of this fatal collision, enforcement of our law and justice for the victims of road crime!"
The TTDF said it is investigating the incident.
