Volleyball Federation receives almost $500K from sporTT

The Trinidad and Tobago Volleyball Association has received a cheque valued at $467,828.00 from the Ministry of Sport.

A statement from the Ministry on Friday, noted that the cheque is a contribution towards their participation in the Senior Women’s Pan-American Cup in Peru from July 4 to 12 and in Boys’ Under-19 and Girls’ Under-18 World Championship Qualifiers in Jamaica from July 22 to 28.

These funds are also to assist with expenses related to Trinidad and Tobago’s participation at the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit 2019, which began in April 2019. The remainder of the competition will take place in the Dominican Republic, Bonaire and Jamaica and will conclude in November 2019.

Prior to the cheque presentation which took place at the Ministry’s Head Office in St Clair, acting Permanent Secretary Farook Hosein expressed best wishes to the volleyball players in their various tournaments on behalf of Sport and Youth Affairs Minister, Shamfa Cudjoe.
