WASA advises of supply disruption in South West Trinidad on Tuesday

Customers in parts of South West Trinidad served by the Point Fortin Desalination Plant and Granville Water Treatment Plant are being advised that there will be an interruption in their pipe borne water supply on Tuesday.

The Water and Sewage Authority (WASA) said this will place between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm.

It said this has become necessary due to planned works by the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) at their Point Fortin Sub-Station, which will affect the power supply to both facilities.

Areas to be affected include: Point Fortin (high points), Techier, Vance River, Merrimac, Vessigny, TGU, La Brea (up to the Pitch Lake), Parrylands, Cochrane, Mahaica, Lot 10, Cochrane, Clifton Hill, Reservoir Hill; along with Granville, Cedros, Fullerton, Bamboo, Icacos and Environs,
Pt Coco, Columbus and Coromandel.

Customers are advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the service to normalise to some affected areas in accordance with pipe borne water supply schedules after restoration of power to the facilities.

For further information or assistance, customers are asked to contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.
