WASA announces supply disruption to parts of South Trinidad
The Water and Sewerage Authority is advising customers in parts of South Trinidad that there will be an interruption in their pipe borne water supply on Thursday April 5, between the hours of 9 am and 9 pm.
This interruption is expected to affect all those served by the Navet Water Treatment Plant.
According to WASA, the disruption has become necessary in order to carry out emergency repair works to a ruptured 20 inch transmission main in the vicinity of Glenroy Settlement, Princes Town.
Areas that would be affected include:
Along Naparima Mayaro Road from Princes Town to St. Clements;
- Along Guaracara Tabaquite Road from Harmony Hall - Morne Roche Quarry Road;
- Along Cipero Road from Friendship to Borde Narve / Bronte, Barrackpore, Rochard Road, Rochard Douglas Road, including Clarke Road, Upper & Lower Penal Rock Road, Bunsee Trace;
- Corinth, Retrench, Cocoyea;
- Golconda, Picton, Diamond and Esperance.
A limited truck-borne water supply is available upon request with particular focus on medical institutions, schools and homes for the aged.
Customers are further advised that this may take between 12 to 24 hours for the scheduled pipe-borne service to normalize to some affected areas.
