WASA: Blown air valve causes supply disruption to North Trinidad

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in North Trinidad served by the Caroni Water Treatment Plant who are currently experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply that this is due to a blown air valve along the 48-inch diameter Caroni North Transmission Main, Piarco.

Emergency repair works currently underway.

Repairs were expected to be completed by 6 am on Thursday, however, due to further damage beyond what was initially anticipated, emergency work is now expected to be completed by 8 pm. 

The affected areas include the following: 

*Piarco Airport, *Port of Spain, *St. James

*Cocorite, *Santa Cruz, *Barataria 

*Morvant, *Laventille, *Beetham Gardens 

*Gonzales, *Belmont, *Cascade

*St. Augustine, *Curepe, *Champ Fleurs

*Mt Dor, *Petit Bourg, *Valsayn South

*Bamboo, *Mt. Hope Hospital, *Aranguez 

*El Socorro, *San Juan

Customers are further advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the supply to normalise to some affected areas.
