WASA expresses sorrow over Chris Rivers' passing

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is extending condolences to the family and friends of Chris Rivers, the security guard who was found dead in Mafeking Village, five days after she was reported missing.

Last Wednesday Mayaro Police received a missing person's report filed by Rivers' mother. The 24-year-old was seen two days prior at WASA's New Grant substation where she was last attached. After her shift, she entered a vehicle and was intending to go to Rio Claro, however, she never arrived.

A woman reportedly led police to her decomposing body in a forested area in Mafeking Village around 11:00 am on Monday.

WASA says it hopes her family and friends are comforted during this time of mourning.

Only on Sunday night a vigil was held as attendees prayed for her safe return.
