WASA: Moruga residents face supply disruption due to ruptured mains

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in Moruga and environs who are experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply that this is due to broken 12-inch and 16-inch mains, at 288 Moruga Road, Indian Walk, in the vicinity of Jaibo Recreation Club.

The leaks occurred in the vicinity of construction of a retaining wall being undertaken by the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT). The Authority and MOWT are collaborating towards having the roadway reconstructed and the pipelines reinstated. Given the extent of the required works by both MOWT and the Authority, the pipeline repairs are expected to be completed by 6 pm on Friday.

The areas affected are along Moruga Road up to St Mary’s including Fifth Company, Cumuto, Cunjal, Samuel Cooper Road, Rochard Douglas Road, Burton Trace and Saunders Trace.

Customers are also advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas. For further information or assistance, customers can contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll-free at 800-4420/4426.
