WASA: Supply interruption extended for North East residents

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant that their supply disruption has been held up due to the unforeseen delay in pipeline system upgrades and interconnectivity works.
The works were scheduled to be completed at midnight on Sunday. However, work on the job is now expected to be completed by 6 pm on Monday.
Affected areas include:
- Sangre Grande Proper
- La Horquetta
- San Raphael
- Five Rivers Arouca
Customers are advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas in accordance with pipe-borne water supply schedules.

A limited truck-borne water service will be available with priority given to special homes and health care institutions.
