WASA: Water supply restored to north-east Trinidad
Created : 11 December 2017
Residents in parts of North-east Trinidad will soon have their water supply restored, according to the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA).
The company said in a statement issued Monday that repairs to the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant involving a ruptured 42” diameter transmission main in the vicinity of Daniel Trace, Valencia, was completed ahead of schedule.
The company said the supply reopened at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017.
WASA said pipe-borne water is being restored to affected areas from Sangre Grande in the East to Five Rivers, Arouca in the West.
However, customers are further advised that it may take between 24 to 36 hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas, in keeping with regular pipe-borne water supply schedules.
For further information or assistance, customers can contact WASA's Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.
The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks customers for their understanding.
