WASA working to restore water supply after flooding

The Water and Sewerage Authority said it is working to restore water supply to customers after many water treatment plants were affected by recent flooding.
In an update on Monday, WASA said several Water Treatment Plants ( WTPs) were still affected by a number of issues such as turbid river conditions, clogged intake screens and power failures/ electrical problems:
- North Oropouche, Hollis, Matura, Quare, Guanapo and Las Cuevas WTPs.
Areas affected include: Valencia, Arima, D’Abadie, Manzanilla, Sangre Grande, Malabar, Maloney, La Horquetta, Brazil, Opopune Gardens, Five Rivers, Las Cuevas, among others.
WASA said it is expected that those facilities would return to service in the coming hours as conditions normalize at the various locations.
Customers are advised to manage their water use efficiently in light of the up to 24-hour timeframe that may be required for the restoration of their scheduled pipe borne water supply.
