Watch: Anonymous man wants to 'kill out the police' after POS riots
A disturbing voice note made by an anonymous person threatening to kill police officers which was shared online, has been submitted to the authorities.
The voice note, which was circulated following early morning protests in parts of Port of Spain and Laventille after Akile 'Christmas' James was shot and killed by police, has no identifying markers but shows the backyard of a house.
The man, speaking with a Trinidadian accent, encouraged others to 'kill out the police'.
"I had to block my queen from seeing this one because I don't want to raise she pressure. But allyuh ent fine it's time we take a stand against the police and start to kill them back...allyuh have to take a stand, lewwe come together and kill out the police. And don't say we can't do that because we could do anything we put we mind to," the man said.
Protests began around 7:00 am in parts of East Port of Spain after some said James had been killed by police while sleeping at his home in Basilon Street.
Police visited the James' home in connection with a recent high-profile murder in the area.
Residents in parts of East Port of Spain raised protests again after a disabled man who is unable to speak was shot while making his way home after work.
Residents along Bath Street lit debris around 3:00 pm and made angry protests against what they said was police brutality.
The Police Complaints Authority (PCA) has since launched an investigation into the matter.
