Watch: Burst main in Cocorite causing traffic, water woes
Created : 21 September 2019
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in the Cocorite/ Woodbrook/ St. James area, who are currently experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply that this is due to a ruptured 8 inch diameter main, along the Western Main Road, Cocorite (in the vicinity of the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital).
The main was damaged during a road paving exercise scheduled for Saturday.
Emergency repairs to the damaged main are expected to be completed by 6 pm today.
Motorists are also advised that there will be a disruption in the flow of traffic along the eastbound carriageway of the roadway as a result of the ongoing repairs.
As such, motorists are asked to proceed with caution in the vicinity of the job site and to obey the instructions of Traffic Control Officers on duty.
For further information or assistance, customers can also contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.
