Watch: Cars wrecked during Carnival fete in Chaguaramas

Drivers parked along the Western Main Road outside a popular Carnival fete in Chaguaramas were seen being towed away on Sunday morning. 

A video which was shared via social media showed vehicles which were illegally parked along the roadway being removed. 

The Chaguaramas Development Authority (CDA) advised in February 2018 that parking along the Western Main Road in the Chaguaramas Peninsula is illegal and that cars would be towed away.

Fete goers attended the popular early-morning fete 'Soaka' at O2 Park and were treated to performances by Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Skinny Fabulous and many more. 

Video footage shared online showed patrons being sprayed with water while enjoying the performances.

WASA CEO, Allan Poon-King, has urged citizens to conserve water as much as possible as a drier-than-usual dry season has been forecast this year. 

WASA has since implemented restrictions on water usage, banning the use of hoses and power washers in an effort to conserve limited water reserves.
