A video showing a customer who appears to not have paid for a bag of cotton candy while stuck in traffic has gone viral online.

The video, shared via Twitter yesterday, amassed over 500 retweets and over 1,000 likes as people expressed anger over the incident, the details of which are not yet known.

The video shows a cotton candy vendor selling his treats during traffic along the highway near St Augustine, when he goes to a vehicle with the intent to sell his sweets.

However as the car pulls away, a hand was seen reaching out of the front passenger window and taking a bag of cotton candy. The car then drove away.

The video was retweeted with many expressing anger at the incident.

One man tweeted: 'Imagine a man making an honest dollar and you stealing from him boi? 6$ boy? Steupsssssss.'

Another woman tweeted: This is so f***ing classless, distasteful and low. Nothing ever made me mad so. This upset my whole day.'

Another man commented: 'Nah man, the guy is working hard to earn something for himself.'

Another expressed disgust at the incident: '6 dollars you go take from a man boy? This is distasteful to a T.'

Many commented that the person should be found.
