Watch: Duke 'not worried', says Tobago East is PDP seat

Leader of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Watson Duke sees no threat from the People's National Movement or any other political party for the Tobago East constituncy.

Also contesting the seat is outgoing PNM MP Ayanna Webster-Roy and Juliana Henry-King of the One Tobago Voice (OTV) party.

The main opposition United National Congress (UNC) has not put forward a candidate for either of the Tobago seats. Duke has been accused of secretly colluding with the UNC, a claim he has previously denied.

Tobago has been a PNM stronghold since the party contested its first election in 1956, only losing the two seats to the National Alliance for Reconstruction (NAR) some 30 years later in 1986, 1991 and 1995. The party retained Tobago West in 2000 but lost Tobago East to the NAR that year. In 2001, it won both seats and lost it again in 2010 to the Tobago Organisation of the People (PP). The seats were reclaimed in 2015.
