Watch: Flooding, fallen trees reported along East-West corridor

Senator Clarence Rhmabarat shared a video of a fallen tree being removed by the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service.

The incident reportedly took place on the Priority Bus Route in the vicinity of the University of the West Indies.


Reports have also been coming in of flooding on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, specifically in the vicinity of Mausica and O’Meara Road.

The road was said to be impassable around 8:30 am on Saturday.

Residents of Arima Old Road have also posted videos of flooding in their area.


Parts of Trinidad and Tobago have been experiencing inclement weather since early on Saturday morning, with many reporting heavy rainfall, thunder and lightning. 

At the time of publishing, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management had not yet issued any official statements or alerts regarding inclement weather and flooding.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution in the affected areas and to delay travel where possible.
