Fire officers were expected to return today to the scene of a fire at Penco Street, Chaguanas, to determine what caused the blaze which has left at least four persons homeless, and caused damages in the hundreds of thousands.
According to reports, around 12:53pm yesterday, officers of the Chaguanas Fire Station received a report of a fire at the third floor of a building along Penco Street, near Kenny’s bar.
Appliances were sent out to location and upon their arrival, they observed the uppermost floor engulfed in flames.
The fire officers responded, and were able to contain the blaze quickly, however, the lower floors did suffer water damage.
Thankfully, there were no reports of injuries or casualties in this incident.
Fire officers were expected to return to the scene today to determine the cause of the blaze and an estimate of losses.
