Heavy showers on Wednesday left employees at the San Fernando Teaching Hospital running for cover as it rained down on unsuspecting persons inside the building.

A 23-second video captured employees frantically grabbing their belongings and scampering for shelter as water cascaded from the roof and flooded the ground floor.

When contacted, Acting CEO at the South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) Dr Albert Persaud confirmed that the ground floor of the Teaching Hospital was flooded after heavy rainfall caused water to enter the building.

In a response via WhatsApp Messenger, he assured that clean-up operations were well underway and near to completion.

Dr Persaud said no one was injured during the ordeal, adding that the adjacent San Fernando General Hospital was unaffected.
