Excitement reached new heights on Wednesday as Trinbagonians rushed to experience KFC's newest branch at MovieTowne, Port of Spain.

The grand opening was met with crowds of people after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at midday, showing the branch is now open for business.

CEO of Prestige Holdings Limited, Simon Hardy, said to LoopTT that this latest addition to the franchise is the 58th branch to be opened in Trinidad and Tobago.

"This is the 58th store we've opened in Trinidad. We've wanted to have a branch at MovieTowne for some time, but we wanted to wait for the right opportunity and the right location. We know MovieTowne is a destination for families and we know many of them also love KFC, so now we're right where all the action is," he said.

The new restaurant also features a modernised design, complete with community areas and even power outlets for customers who want to use their laptops or charge their mobile phones while dining.

"When we build new stores we always build with the latest design. This branch features clean, contemporary and modern lines, and our community tables will also have power outlets to give customers more convenience," he said.

Hardy also reminded the public that the chicken served in all local KFC outlets is not only cooked fresh, it's also hand-made.

"A lot of people think it's from frozen, but it's fresh, it's delivered fresh every day and it's local, we buy all our chicken locally. So it's the best ingredients, the best quality, and that's why it tastes so good," he said.

Customers were impressed with the new layout and were happy with the new convenient location. The company also gave out Christmas candy canes to all customers on opening day, and KFC decorated cupcakes and meal vouchers were given to the first 100 customers

The branch officially opened for business from December 5, 2018 at midday, and customers can go there to get all of their favourite specials and meal combos.
