Kes the Band's 'Hello' was one of the mega songs of Trinidad and Tobago's 2018 Carnival and has proven to be a favourite on the Carnival circuit.
Among the song's fans is pop star Meghan Trainor who took to Snapchat to share her love for the song.
Trainor is no stranger to soca having sung in a soca band called Island Fusion from the ages of 13 to 16.
The band was led by her Uncle-in-law, Burton Toney, who was once a lead vocalist alongside Destra Garcia in the band Atlantik.
In an interview with this writer after the release of her debut hit 'All About That Bass' in 2014, Trainor singled out Kees Dieffenthaller, lead singer of KTB as one of the soca artists she wanted to collaborate with, describing him as a huge talent.
Trainor made a series of snaps teaching her fans about soca. She also played songs from Bunji Garlin.
