Watch: Men spotted on CCTV dumping rubbish in Carenage

Video footage showing what appears to be two men dumping refuse over a bridge in the Carenage area has gone viral online.

The video, which is has a time stamp of June 5, 2018, was shared to social media on Friday June 8 in an attempt to identify the perpetrators.

According to reports, the items dumped consisted of raw fish parts, which was dumped along a bridge near Glencoe, Carenage. 

 

Citizens slammed the illegal act and called for those responsible to be fined.

Damian Davis:

"An then they will blame the government for flooding nasty effers."

Eric Edwards:

"Polluting the world everything goes to the ocean And all oceans are connected .....a**hole."

Chickey Rahaman:

"The police should charge them for polluting. And a judge should make them do community 100 hours service (make them clean up the river)."

John Joseph:

"This is the nasty mentality and behaviour of some Trinidadians. These men are not dumb but made their plan to dump their rubbish in the river to cause flooding."

Under the Litter Act, a person caught dumping garbage from a vehicle can be fined up to $4,000, or up to $8,000 for businesses. 

Anyone spotting persons dumping rubbish illegally is urged to contact the police on 555, 999, or 800-TIPS.
