Watch out for weekend traffic: Disruption on the Uriah Butler H'wy

Drivers are advised of a traffic disruption over the weekend along the southbound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway.

In a statement issued Friday, the Ministry of Works and Transport said the disruption would take place between 7.00 am and 7.00 pm from November 23-24, 2019, due to slope works.

The disruption would take place at the following locations:

- B 1/5 Uriah Butler Highway (southbound), 4.97km mark; bridge right before the Caroni Flyover

- B1/6 Uriah Butler Highway (southbound), 5.88 km mark; first bridge after the Caroni Flyover

- B1/7 Uriah Butler Highway (southbound), 6.40km mark; second bridge after the Caroni Flyover

- B 1/9 Uriah Butler Highway, (southbound), 8.19km mark; bridge in the vicinity of the recently closed American stores.

The Ministry said a minimum of two lanes will remain open to motorists in the southbound direction along the UBH at all times. 

Motorists are asked to proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and to comply with instructions from police officers.

The Ministry apologised for the inconvenience.
