Watch: Patrice Roberts celebrates women in new song and video

Patrice Roberts is on a roll.

The singer has dropped another noteworthy video, this time for the song 'Real Woman' in which she celebrates the strength of women.

The video showcases many female leaders, entrepreneurs and trailblazers including former Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Sports Minister Shamfa Cudjoe, President Paula Mae Weekes, and entrepreneurs such as Diane Hunte, owner of Diane's Tea Shop, Lashaun Prescott of Elle Dance School, Nathalie Harris, owner of Glorious Bodies, Glorious Minds spa, Chef Annelca Mendoza, Natalie Fonrose of Fonrose the Brand and comedienne Rachel Price.

Roberts said it was important to pay homage to women and feel empowered for herself.

"Without a woman there is nothing, we have so many strengths and we go through so many things in life and still get things done. A woman is always to be respected and praised. I just wanted to pay homage to women," she told Loop at a press conference in Dominica.

She praised her team for the video concept especially the director Lord Edit.

The 'Real Woman' video dropped a week after her 'Carry On' video featuring Dynasty star Robert Riley who has Trinidadian roots.

Roberts said the steamy video got a lot of attention with people thinking she had moved on.

Roberts has a daughter with Antiguan soca star Ricardo Drue and the two have been romantically linked for years.

Roberts said she deliberately puts out a range of music and videos every year.

She has nine more songs to drop which may all have videos, she said.

"I have some big surprises in store," she said.

Roberts debuted Carry On live at the Dominica World Creole Music Festival where she performed solo for the first time.

She reminded the crowd that she first performed on that stage with Machel Montano.

Her set, backed by Dominica's Bouyon band WCK, was an energetic one that had her fans singing every word.

She ended her set with her 2018 hit 'Sweet for Days' by jumping off the stage to interact with the audience.

The second edition of Roberts' concert Strength of a Woman will be held on February 20.
