Watch: Patrice Roberts strikes patriotic tone in new song and video

In her new song and video, Patrice Roberts strikes a patriotic note as she aims to inspire a country besieged with many ills.
The song 'This is de place', speaks about the good things Trinidad and Tobago has to offer and follows in the vein of songs such as 'Trini to de bone', 'Wonders of the World' and her own 2005 'The Islands' with Bunji Garlin.
In 'This is de place', written by Jason 'Shaft' Bishop and produced by De Red Boyz, she sings:
"Where can you find a curry pot on three stone, is big lime by the river
Ah know, ah know, ah know, ah know
We don't divide, in the morning we quarrelling in the evening we all liming together
Ah know, ah know, ah know, ah know
Like when the steelpan and riddim section play with that sweetness yuh go want to stay
Ah hammock under a mango tree go take all yuh stress away."
The accompanying video highlights the beauty of T&T.
It was shot in various venues: Down the Islands, at the Temple In The Sea, Tobago, on the North Coast, Santa Rosa Heights at Pan in Rosa, Downtown Port-of-Spain, Mayaro and at Parang in Lopinot.
"Despite the ills in society there is always a reminder of the beauty that is Trinidad and Tobago," a statement from Roberts' camp says.
"We didn't want to make it about Patrice. Of course, we could have scripted a video but we wanted to capture elements that are a representation of our beauty. We live where people wish they could vacation and we want those watching the video to be reminded of the beauty of Trinidad and Tobago. For those looking on, we want them to feel compelled to visit."
