Watch: Major changes underway at Piarco International Airport

The Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) has been using technology and innovation to create a smooth and hassle-free experience for airport users and passengers.

Following the launch of the Atrium last August--a multifunctional space complete with charging stations and seating for airport users--additional upgrades have been underway, designed to create a seamless customer experience from the moment they arrive.

Airport users can soon take advantage of the full features of the ‘Park-in’, a new automated parking system. Powered by solar energy, the Park-in will allow users to easily identify vacant parking spots and interact primarily with kiosks which can provide assistance, if needed, via an intercom.

Passengers can avoid long lines and check in faster. At the entrance to the Airport at the Departures Concourse, passengers can follow the cues from the Ad Whisperer, an innovative audio system that gives helpful tips to passengers and directs them to the self-check-in kiosks.

Passengers will enjoy even more leisure time before their flight with the opening of Maria’s Bakery and Heroes Restaurant and Sports Bar. In addition to offering a wide selection of food and drinks, Heroes stands as an ode to some of our nation’s most notable icons.

Those returning to Trinidad will soon have the added convenience of less wait time in immigration lines with the introduction of immigration self-service kiosks, allowing travellers to quickly process their travel information and get to their next destination: home.
