Watch: Police officer calls for love in Laventille

"Put down the guns, live for peace, live for love, because is only you alone losing, and everyone who want to get Laventille, winning."

One police officer's video calling for an end to gang violence in Laventille has gone viral online with over 2,000 shares and over 70,000 views, after he called for peace and an end to gang violence.

Officer Finbar Rochford shared a viral video to Facebook on Monday in response to a spate of killings in the Belmont and Beetham areas earlier this week. 

Rochford said that he is Muslim and only wants peace in the area so that citizens can live in harmony. 

 

Many supported his views, thanking him for speaking out.

Police were on the alert on Tuesday after killings Kevon 'Fish' Joseph was gunned down in Belmont while Alvin Gyam, 33 and Abraham Quamina, were both shot dead in Beetham Gardens. All three killings happened within hours of each other.
