Watch: Rum lovers rejoice; Bacardi launches premium rum line in T&T

Alstons Marketing & Company Ltd (AMCO) in conjunction with Bacardi launched its premium rum portfolio in a Caribbean themed event at The Residence, One Woodbrook Place on October 11 2018.

At the event, Brand Manager for Bacardi, Karyse Baptiste mentioned that the surging rum trend in Trinidad & Tobago had been noticed and consumers were looking to trade-up and were expecting more premium, exceptional experiences thus highlighting an opportunity to compete in the market.

Regional Trade Ambassador, Carlos Maestracci took guests through the rum tastings which featured Bacardi Ocho, an 8YR Rum, Bacardi Diez, a 10-year rum and Reserva Limitada, which averages about a 12-year rum.


BACARDÍ is shaking up the dark spirits world with the introduction of a new premium portfolio.

BACARDÍ rum introduced a new portfolio of premium rums comprised of four diverse, expertly crafted, barrel-aged rums.

As the creators of the original white rum and leaders of rum culture for generations, the new portfolio of premium rums from BACARDÍ will breathe new life into the rum category and inspire a new generation of spirits drinkers.

The BACARDÍ premium portfolio consists of:

BACARDÍ Añejo Cuatro: Barrel-aged for a minimum of four years, making it ideal for elevated cocktails such as El Presidente and Cuatro Mismo. BACARDÍ Añejo Cuatro has a beautiful golden apricot hue and boasts notes of mild vanilla, toasted oak, clove and honey. Its profile is driven by oak contribution and highlights the smoothness throughout the ageing process.

BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho: Based-off of the original recipe from the family reserve created in 1862, BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho is barrel-aged for a minimum of eight years with a rich, velvety body, best enjoyed neat/on the rocks or in an Ocho Old Fashioned. BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho has a rich golden colour and has warming notes of butterscotch, nutmeg and dried apricots. The longer ageing process sparks an additional layer of complex flavours from the barrel.

BACARDÍ Gran Reserva Diez: A master blender’s reserve barrel-aged for a minimum of ten years and best served neat or on the rocks. BACARDÍ Gran Reserva Diez has a dark golden hue and boasts bright notes of banana, pear and tropical melon balanced with caramelized vanilla and oak.

BACARDÍ Gran Reserva Limitada: An extremely rare, limited release, which is barrel-aged for an average of twelve years for a rich and expressive taste that is best enjoyed neat.
