A viral video showing students being robbed as they made their way home from school in St James has incited angry comments from citizens.

The CCTV footage showed several students as they walked along a street in St James being accosted by several persons.

In one incident, a couple of students were seen walking along the street when another young man walked up to one of them and forced the male student into a nearby fence.

The female student, visibly traumatised, was led away by the male student after the incident.

Citizens expressed outrage at the brazen acts.

Jaceyon Lumpris:

“Real pests! Seeing this video bring flashbacks in memory of my time I was almost robbed minding my own business attempting to make it home after secondary school. Luckily I would scan my surroundings often and was alert enough to notice the four guys attempting to pounce on me from behind. That day I made a run for it until I was certain they were out of sight and I was in a well populated area. Following that ordeal I had a suspected that they may have been marking the scenes of where the school bus would at times drop us off, and I never used that route after school again.”

Carol Owsarie:

“They have no shame, robbing a school child too.”

Alli Alli:

“You rob a school boy?!! So low you are.”

Chandra Gonzales:

“Oh my gosh. This is so low. And went to the extreme of robbing kids. No one safe.”

According to reports, the incidents have been reported to the authorities.

Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to contact the police on 555, 999, or 800-TIPS (8477).
